This was stated by the Co-Chairman of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko during his speech from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, July 9.
According to him, the long-defunct parliamentary coalition once again confirmed the meaninglessness of its existence. This parliament has not been able to do anything good either for people or for the country. What it called reforms has become a real disaster for citizens.
“Over the past year, like the previous two, the Verkhovna Rada has not passed a single law aimed at improving the lives of Ukrainian citizens. No step is taken to achieve peace, rather, on the contrary – purely military rhetoric and inability to compromise. Nothing has been done for pensioners, IDPs and other unprotected categories of the population. If we count the decisions of the parliament useful for the society, then one day would be enough for their adoption,” Yuriy Boyko said.
The parliamentarian stressed that current authorities had come to a deadlock and confirmation of this - the situation surrounding the formation of a new composition of the Central Election Commission. “First, representatives of the OPPOSITION BLOC were displaced from the proposed composition of the Central Election Commission, and as a result, they could not divide the seats among themselves, thus having launched the parliamentary crisis. We demand to vote for the composition of the CEC in accordance with the PACE resolution and include representatives of the OPPOSITION BLOC in the commission. We also demand a new election law that will stop political corruption during the election campaign,” the Co-Chairman of the opposition faction noted.
“In all democratic countries, the crisis of mistrust is resolved through early elections. We offer a simple and honest solution: to get out of the mandates and call re-elections. If there is conscience and respect for our own citizens, I suggest everyone to make a choice in favor of the future of Ukraine and begin the process of renewal of power,” Yuriy Boyko summed up.
