This was said by the leader of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko during a speech from the tribune of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, November 14.
He stressed that the government finally lost the trust of citizens and is unable to rule the country, and this is already obvious to everyone. “All initiatives and reforms are aimed not at the benefit of Ukrainians, but to harm. By the end of the year there are three plenary weeks. We insist the parliament to be engaged in specific issues that are of practical importance for all citizens of Ukraine,” the politician noted.
“Before the adoption of the budget, it is necessary to hear a governmental report. We demand the government to submit a program to overcome the economic crisis. If it is not able to - we are ready to provide our variant, adjust the budget, reduce the costs of the power bloc in favor of social programs. No police state will keep the hungry people,” Yuriy Boyko emphasized.
The leader of the opposition stressed that the internal stability is no less important, than the protection of external borders. “It is necessary to define a clear and consistent program for the end of the conflict and the return of territories in the east of the country on the basis of the Minsk agreements. Given the international resonance, it is necessary to hold open parliamentary hearings on the Law “On Education” and make the necessary adjustments to it,” the parliamentarian said.
In addition, the emergency situation, according to him, has developed in the medical field. “Ukraine, together with African countries, is at risk of epidemics. This is the World Health Organization (WHO) data. The voted law on “medical reform” will not only worsen the situation with the growth of epidemics, this law will make medicine inaccessible to most citizens of Ukraine. We demand this pseudo-medical reform to be canceled,”Yuriy Boyko said.
“Newspapers are full of headlines from the 90's. Murders, robberies and violence swept the streets of Ukrainian cities. People are scared to leave the house. We demand immediately to hear the report of the security officials, hold a special session of the parliament on the criminal situation in the country,” the Co-Chairman of the opposition faction said.
He drew attention to the fact that the government uses its own uncontrollable to no one in the country. “We demand to delegate control functions to the opposition, appoint an ombudsman, head of the Accounting Chamber, appoint opposition representatives to the leadership of the Standing Committee and Budget Committee and vote on the opposition law,” the opposition politician said.
“We have a clear plan and draft laws on each of these points. We know what to do, because every day we hear voices of despair from the regions. The power must either start acting for the benefit of Ukrainian citizens, or resign and announce early elections,” Yuriy Boyko summed up.
