The leader of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko said this during his speech from the tribune of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, December 19.
Summarizing the results of the year, he noted that the Verkhovna Rada would be remembered by the Ukrainians by the adoption of laws that led to the deterioration of their lives. “How will this parliament be remembered by Ukrainians? Nothing good. A striking proof of this is the extremely low rating of trust in the government and the parliament by Ukrainian citizens. In the country – rampant crime, with which the siloviki are unable to cope. The Verkhovna Rada will be remembered by stamping laws that led to an increase in tariffs and prices, an increase in the number of labor migrants, a drop in industrial and agricultural production. Due to the authorities, maybe soon Ukraine will import milk and meat from abroad,” the politician stressed.
“The work of this parliament “was marked” by the adoption of so-called reforms. Pension reform, which actually destroys retirees. Education reform, which will reduce the level of literacy of the population, and already now, it has quarreled us with neighbors because of the language provision. Further collapse of the health care system and “medical reform”, which will destroy both medicine and people. Parliament became the center of creating problems for Ukrainian citizens. People are anxiously waiting for the next sessional week, so that there will not be any surprises from MP,” Yuriy Boyko emphasized.
According to him, there were very few positive parliamentary decisions in 2017. “Perhaps they are only two – we managed to prevent the sale of land and prevent large-scale export of round wood from Ukraine. Parliament did not hear the government’s report and did not adopt a strategic program for the development of the state. Not a step was taken to reconcile in the east. The effectiveness of the parliament is the same as the credibility of the authorities – zero,” the opposition leader said.
“But there is a way out. For three plenary days, it is necessary to cancel the pseudo-reforms, hear the report of the security official on the investigation of resonant crimes, unblock the issue of raising pensions for military pensioners and retired of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to listen to the report of the government and after that to send it in resignation. However, realizing that no one will deal with this, we propose self-dissolution of the parliament, and this will be the best New Year gift to Ukrainians from the MPs,” Yuriy Boyko summed up.
