The OPPOSITION BLOC will not support the governmental draft State Budget - 2018. This was stated by Co-chairman of the opposition faction Yuriy Boyko in the corridors of the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, November 14.
According to him, the governmental draft budget provides for a significant increase in spending on power structures. “The Security Service of Ukraine, the police, the Prosecutor’s office, the tax administration will receive many times more funding. In addition, UAH 23 billion. Do they think that the police will keep the hungry people?” Yuriy Boyko stressed.
He noted that the governmental version of the budget is actually built on borrowing, and also contains many “surprises”. “For example, the Cabinet of Ministers increases its financing by 2.6 billion. But, due to what? Did they start to work well, or did the country take an economic breakthrough?” the opposition politician was indignant.
According to Yuriy Boyko, the government also planned to reduce the funding of the Pension Fund by UAH 15 billion. “This means that pensioners will simply receive fewer pensions. In addition, taking into account inflation, payments for social needs are reduced,” the parliamentarian stressed.
Yuriy Boyko recalled that the OPPOSITION BLOC faction proposed its own version of the budget. “We propose to reduce the financing of law enforcement agencies, to cut utility tariffs by half, which will free up money and put additional revenues into the budget at the expense of real inflation,” the Co-Chairman of the opposition faction emphasized.
