This was stated by the Co-Chairman of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko in the village of Dobra, Cherkasy region, where he visited a farm with 400 employees, and an average salary of more than UAH 10,000.
“If we see here, for example, a unique complex that is completely automated and milking occurs automatically, many people who have 1-4 cows simply cannot buy the milking machine themselves. And the fact that the government accepted this provision of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, without giving the necessary assistance, without giving them loans for the purchase of the milking machine, without providing with the appropriate equipment – they have laid a time bomb. People will simply cut the cattle, get rid of it, because they do not have the opportunity to achieve the relevant standards and requirements for the quality of the milk being supplied,” Yuriy Boyko explained.
He told on his recent visit to the village Ulanovo, Sumy region, where people supply milk for UAH 3.5 for a liter, that is, cheaper than water. He stressed that no one was against improving the quality and requirements for milk, it was just necessary to help people adapt.
“The task of the state is to help people, give them money, so that they buy milking machines and milk them according to all European rules. In addition, it is necessary to remove corruption from the distribution of state grants. We all remember the glaring case of last year, when 2 billion state grants out of 4 billion was given to Y. Kosyuk, confidant of the President, and the remaining 2 billion was divided into the whole country. This is corruption, which is seen by the whole country and all farmers. It is important to help farmers, because if the farmer leaves the village – there will be no work places, there will not be a village,” Yuriy Boyko stressed.
The opposition politician stressed the need for a refund of preferential taxation, so that the VAT remained with the agricultural producer and replenished working capital. Then it will be effective support, and farming will become the driver of agriculture.
