This was said by the leader of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko during his meeting with veterans of law enforcement agencies. On Wednesday, February 14, he held a meeting with members of the Kiev regional veteran organization of the Association of Veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Yuriy Boyko said that the MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC, personally got requests to meet from the pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and military pensioners. They want to clarify the position and support them in the issue of restoring justice with pensions.
“What happened to the pensions of veterans of law enforcement agencies and military pensioners is a disgrace. This is my sixth meeting. People are brought to despair and no longer believe that the current government will be able to correct the situation,” the parliamentarian said.
The politician stressed that the government should immediately take measures to remedy the situation, but they are not going to do this. “The government has violated its own normative acts, underpaid people a pension and does not want to recognize this and correct the situation. So deceiving people, as they did it is something impossible. And the prime minister’s answer is simply amazing – we should, but for this it is necessary UAH 40 billion. However, we do not have it. The situation is absolutely wild,” Yuriy Boyko said.
He stressed that the OPPOSITION BLOC would defend the rights of pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and military pensioners. “We applied to the court, registered the draft resolution on the budget change and collected 180 signatures. We will ensure the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and the Prime Minister to meet with these people, listen to them and take action. We will address the president. We will support these people in their legitimate demands,” the opposition leader said.
The MP also commented on the draft law on pension provision for servicemen, which is being developed by the Ministry of Social Policy. “This law is not needed at all. For the indexation of pensions, there are all the necessary regulatory documents. The draft law, which the Ministry of Social Policy is trying to develop, wants to reduce the accrual basis in order to reduce pensions. Here is the same situation as with pension “reform”, when they told that everyone would receive higher pensions. However, people received 100-200 hryvnia extra charges, and now because of the increase in insurance experience, tens of thousands of people cannot retire at 60. Therefore, nothing good will bring it,” Yuriy Boyko said.
