Deputy of the Sumy Regional Council from the OPPOSITION BLOC Volodymyr Pylypeiko sent a deputy's appeal to the Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Sumy Regional State Administration V.Hrobova on the purchase of furniture for schoolchildren, which must comply with the standards and rules of the "New Ukrainian School" (NUS).
Volodymyr Pylypeiko noted that the Cabinet of Ministers by Resolution No. 237 of April 4, 2018 approved the procedure and conditions for granting subventions from the State Budget to local budgets for providing high-quality, modern and affordable general secondary education within the framework of the New Ukrainian School project.
According to this normative-legal act, 998.7 UAH are allocated from the State Budget to provide primary school students with educational facilities and mobile furniture. 40% of these funds will go for the purchase of didactic materials for grade 1, another 40% - for the purchase of modern furniture for primary school classes, 20% - for the purchase of computer equipment for primary classes of the NUS.
In view of the foregoing, and also with a view to ascertaining the state of readiness of schools by the 2018/2019 academic year, the opposition politician, in his request, asked him to provide him with exhaustive information about:
- the amount of the subvention from the State budget to the regional budget of the Sumy region to ensure the quality of general secondary education of the "New Ukrainian School";
- distribution of this subvention between the budgets of districts, cities of regional importance and the united territorial communities of the Sumy region;
- volumes of planned purchase of didactic materials, modern furniture, computer equipment for general secondary education in the context of districts of Sumy region;
- the state of practical implementation of the use of state subsidies for the provision of quality general secondary education in the framework of the project "New Ukrainian School" in the context of each district of the Sumy region.
