Rebooting the power will become the maturity test of both Ukrainian society and Ukrainian politicians. This was written by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Vadim Novinsky on his Facebook page.
“Politics is, first and foremost, a tremendous responsibility, the ability to “subordinate the mind of passion.” Unfortunately, for the third day we have been observing a situation of full irresponsibility and a “parade of ambitions” demonstrated by Ukrainian “politicians” - both supporters of the current President Poroshenko, and those who support the former governor Saakashvili,” Vadim Novinsky said.
According to him, ordinary citizens of Ukraine do not experience anything except shame and disappointment. “Is this the ideal of democracy that was promised to them three years ago? Is this “Europe”, the part of which – according to the assurances of the first persons of the state – Ukraine has become?” the opposition politician added.
According to Vadim Novinsky, both sides went abroad common sense and morality, did everything to break the law and order. “Today, it is said a lot and with the pathos about the destruction of the state because of events on the Polish border. I would like to remind you that they have been destroying Ukraine long ago and systematically - starting from January 2014, when Molotov cocktails flew to the law-enforcers who performed their duty to the society. The seizure of administrative buildings, the disruption of power lines on the administrative border with the Crimea, the blockade of the Donbas - all this led to the triumph of lawlessness, the MP added.
According to the parliamentarian, today we should think not about who is better - Saakashvili or Poroshenko, but think about how Ukraine will return to the legal field and again learn to respect the law. “If the law is not respected by the President, if Saakashvili ignores the law, if the law is not written to the deputies, then what kind of legality can be said for those who did not lay hands on the Bible and did not give the oath of allegiance to the people? Will they seek investment in such a country? Do young people want to stay in such a country? Will there be peace and economic development here?” the MP emphasized.
Flouting the law, it is possible to seize power, extend ones stay in power, as well as win elections and fool the people for a while. “But this is the way to the abyss. This is the path to severe shocks. I do not want to focus more on what happened - everyone for himself (I really hope) has made conclusions. It is necessary to think about what to do next. First of all, I urge everyone not to succumb to provocations. Ukraine is already fed up with revolutions and upheavals. In addition, another wave of populism under the guise of fighting for justice will lead to nothing good,” the parliamentarian added.
“If the President is a responsible politician (or considers himself to be such), he must agree to reboot the power - for early parliamentary and presidential elections. It will be a courageous and correct decision. This reset will become a test of the maturity of Ukrainian society and Ukrainian politicians,” Vadim Novinsky emphasized.
According to him, professionals with state thinking should come to power in the country, which will put the interests of the country and every Ukrainian above all, not a pack of looters and embezzlers. “I believe in the wisdom of Ukrainians. Regarding populists, rushing to power to overthrow other populists, I will paraphrase the words of an outstanding political figure of the early twentieth century: “They need great upheavals, we need great Ukraine!” MP underlined.
