This was stated by MP from OPPOSITION BLOC Vadim Novinsky in the corridors of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to him, the government version of the State Budget for 2018 was based on incorrect macroeconomic indicators.
“It declares GDP at the level of 3 trillion 200 billion, which means an increase of 10%. If we take as a basis such GDP growth, all other budget figures will be completely incorrect or the exchange rate of the hryvnia against the dollar should be at the level of 32-35. In addition, all increases in wages and pensions will be eaten by inflation,” Vadim Novinsky stressed.
According to the oppositionist, the government also plans to significantly increase the financing of the security forces.
“The budget of the Cabinet provides for an increase of UAH 32-33 billion for the power bloc - the Defense Ministry, the Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office. But it would be better to send this money for social needs of ordinary people,” the MP noted.
Vadim Novinsky recalled that the OPPOSITION BLOC faction proposed its version of the State Budget-2018, which among other things provides for the reduction of tariffs and the increase in minimum pensions and salaries. “In addition, we envisaged a reduction in the costs of the law enforcement system. Although, I think that the coalition is unlikely to allow our real budget project to enter the Verkhovna Rada hall,” the parliamentarian emphasized.
