The US President Donald Trump will keep the Ukrainian question in the field of view, and this will help Ukraine to become a peaceful country. This hope was expressed by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Sergiy Lyovochkin, being in Washington, where today the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States was held. Lyovochkin is sure that to promote the peace initiatives of Ukraine it is necessary to strengthen contacts with the new American government.
“There is hope that the newly elected President will keep the Ukrainian question in the field of view, and that this new energy will finally give Ukraine the opportunity to become a peaceful country... Peace is the first priority for the Ukrainian politicians,” Sergiy Lyovochkin said. He stressed that peace is impossible without economic development, without peace, Ukraine will never be able to get out of the current systemic crisis, rates will not be reduced, and salaries and pensions will never catch up with prices in the shops.
The MP is confident that the presence of the Ukrainian politicians in Washington will help to establish contacts with the new US administration and the restoration of peace in our country. “Two months ago, many officials participated in the campaign of the opponent of the newly elected President Trump, many ones did not believe in the possibility of his victory. And now here in Washington, there is a waiting list of those who wish to participate in the inauguration. But I have got a positive attitude that the Ukrainians come here very. Because we all need peace, for this we need to establish more contacts and open new opportunities for cooperation with the new administration,” Sergiy Lyovochkin stressed.
The Deputy paid special attention to the tradition of peaceful transfer of power in the United States that Ukraine would have to learn. “Former opponents, during the campaign, which had brutal battles, now are sitting next to during the inauguration, and combined once again to make America a great country,” the MP said.
