Deputy of the Odesa Regional Council from the OPPOSITION BLOC Roman Senyk stated this, commenting on the response to a personal appeal to the State Highway Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) regarding the necessity of creating a traffic intersection at the intersection of the roads of national importance "Two Pillars".
"I am pleased to report that, thanks to the efforts of the OPPOSITION BLOC, this year, the implementation of the project for the construction of a modern two-level transport interchange on the Two Pillars will be launched. Service roads in the Odesa region from the state budget has already allocated 1 million hryvnia for design work with a total value of more than 5 million hryvnia", the deputy on his Facebook page wrote.
The deputy stressed that the existing one-level transport hub currently does not provide the necessary capacity, and due to the traffic congestion on the site, a congestion of vehicles is formed. That is, the main task of the planned decoupling will be an increase in capacity, which will relieve the main directions of traffic due to the separation of traffic flows at different levels for their continuous movement.
"I am confident that this project will have an important strategic importance for solving problems with comfortable living and doing business, will increase the mobility and tourist attractiveness of the region," the oppositionist added.
In addition, Roman Senyk stressed that he will monitor the progress of design work on this site, as well as inform citizens about the current status of the project.
It should be noted that the transport infrastructure of Ukraine in general and Odesa in particular is one of the most "painful" topics of the state, requiring capital renewal and a systemic approach in the organization of road traffic. Against this background, the operative response of Ukravtodor, which drew attention to the deputy's request and allocated funds for design and survey work on the construction of a traffic junction in this area, is particularly encouraging.
