This was stated by the Co-Chairman of the OPPOSITION BLOC Yuriy Boyko in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, July 6.
According to Yuriy Boyko, since the parliament is going for a long vacation, it should consider a number of social draft laws, which people are waiting for. “First and foremost, this is draft law No 8362 on changes to the state budget, which will allow the allocation of money for the repayment of salary arrears to workers in the coal industry. Today this sum is more than UAH 500 million,” the MPsaid.
“On Thursday, there was a delegation of representatives of the protesting miners. Together with them and the Minister of Energy, we held a meeting in the walls of the parliament. Then the protesters, together with the MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC, went to the ministry. They received part of the money, but for the full repayment of salary arrears to miners, it is necessary to pass a draft law No 8362. The first major demand – return people the money they have earned,” the Co-Chairman of the opposition faction stressed.
“The second is the draft law No 4471, which provides the possibility of voting for the IDPs. Today, in the conditions when elections are coming up, to depriving of 1.5 million people of the constitutional right to vote is generally disgraceful. The fact that the parliament blocks the adoption of this draft law shows that the current authorities do not want to give these people the possibility of voting. We insist this draft law to be introduced and voted,” Yuriy Boyko accentuated.
The politician noted the importance of the adoption of Resolution No 8285 on the restoration of part of the social payments to the Chernobyl victims who had lost them in previous years, as well as Resolution No 5642 on the dismissal of the acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun. “Suprun has brought medicine to the catastrophe. We believe that she does not have the right to be in a leadership position, especially taking into account her deputy’s statements that there is no need to treat people with cancer,” the parliamentarian said.
“We have already raised these questions, and we will demand their implementation. All those political games connected with the conflict that arose from the attempt to form a “manual” CEC by the president should not distract the parliament from resolving these issues. This is important for us. We will not vote for any questions until draft law No 8362 is adopted. On Wednesday (July 4) we already demonstrated this – we blocked the voting and practically no law was passed in the parliament,” Yuriy Boyko summed up.
