Statement of the OPPOSITION BLOC
Today in Ukraine, cases of attacks motivated by ethnic, racial, religious intolerance and xenophobia have become frequent. Increasingly, our state is among the violators of human rights and freedoms. Increasingly, European courts consider claims against the Ukrainian state due to inaction against such crimes. Extremism, radicalism and violence dictate the behavior and mood in Ukrainian society. Senior government officials allow themselves to be arrogant and offensive to representatives of the national communities of the multinational Ukrainian people.
The OPPOSITION BLOC declares that there can be no future for such a society. On such grounds, it is impossible to build national unity and bring up real civil patriotism. Today, racism, ethno-cultural extremism and xenophobia are the main enemies of the Ukrainian state and its democratic perspective. It is necessary to fight them resolutely.
On the International Day against Fascism, Racism and Anti-Semitism, the OPPOSITION BLOC demands to call for those responsible for incitement of xenophobia, racial and interethnic intolerance in Ukraine. From law enforcement agencies, we demand an effective response to every fact of such violations. We demand personnel decisions against police officers with the connivance of which such attacks occur.
The OPPOSITION BLOC is confident that in the near future Ukraine will restore social harmony, civil, interethnic and religious peace. This will inevitably happen as soon as the responsible political forces come to power. Together we can change the course of public policy. The new democratic government will ensure a broad public dialogue, the right to freedom of speech and expression, effective protection of the cultural rights and freedoms of all Ukrainian citizens without exception.
We know that peace will soon return to Ukraine!
