On the night of November 8, in the Alley of Heroes of the Soviet Union in Sumy, unidentified individuals damaged one of the stands dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
“These cowards wanted to destroy the memory. They believe that they have done a “heroic” act, but in fact it disgraces any public organization or political party,” the Chair of the regional organization of the OPPOSITION BLOC, deputy of the regional council Oleksandr Strelchenko commented the incident.
He stressed that no one has the right to destroy anything connected with the heroes-winners of the Great Patriotic War, who won peace for our country more than 70 years ago. “And those who want to look like “heroes”, should show their heroism in the defense of our state, and not to fight with people’s memory, busts and photographs,” Oleksandr Strelchenko emphasized and noted that the OPPOSITION BLOC would initiate the restoration of the broken image.
