The Co-chairman of the OPPOSITION BLOC faction in the parliament Oleksandr Vilkul commented on the resignation of the Polish rocker Wojciech Balczun, who led Ukrzaliznytsia – one of the country’s largest state enterprises. It should be reminded that on the eve of the resignation, even in the Cabinet of Ministers, which was appointed Balczun at the time, openly stated that during his leadership flourished corruption and bribery at Ukrzaliznytsia.
However, Bolczun will be remembered to Ukrainians only by the increase in prices for rail travel. And enterprises will remember him as the person, who led to the growth of tariffs and the disruption of deliveries of freight gondola cars, as a result of which contracts for the supply of domestic products were not fulfilled, and the factories of Zaporizhzhya and Mariupol, the Mining and Processing Plant of Krivyi Rih were on the verge of a stop. Moreover, this caused colossal losses to the country’s budget. At the same time, Balczun received a million-dollar salary.
"The authorities should be responsible for the devastation and corruption that elite guest workers who worked in decision-making positions left after themselves. They all went one way: firstly they promised a lot, then they destroyed the branches entrusted to them and quickly disappeared," he stressed.
"That was with the Lithuanian Abromavichus, who became the Head of the Ministry of Economics, under which the production in Ukraine entrusted to him collapsed by almost 25% and a lot of people lost their jobs. That was with the Mimino Group, whose representatives killed health care and destroyed the law enforcement system. A group of transatlantic "experts" dealt a colossal blow to the country’s financial system and is finishing off at the Ministry of Health that it did not manage to destroy Kvitashvili.
What else should be destroyed in order to stop this vicious practice of inviting irresponsible characters to the most important posts that have not found a good use in their countries," said Vilkul.
He noted that there are enough educated and highly qualified people in a huge country, such as Ukraine, who are able to manage effectively. Now many of them massively leave abroad because they did not found a worthy use to themselves.
"We must stop selecting executives on such a principle: either personally committed to a pro-government team, or a foreigner. Such an approach will ultimately finish our country. Our former "experts" apparently do not care about the fate of Ukraine, and they post photos from Paris restaurants after leaving Ukraine," said Vilkul.
