“The fascists did not export as much chernozem as it is now being destroyed by rapeseed, corn and sunflower. In 2018, rapeseed was harvested 19 times more than last year. After seeding these technical crops, the fields should be restored 4-6 years. And it is sowed every year ... No country in Europe allows such kind of “luxury” for the destruction of the fertility of its own land,” the Co-Chairman of the parliamentary faction of the OPPOSITION BLOCK Oleksandr Vilkul wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the current government instead of helping agricultural producers significantly increased the tax burden, deprived the working capital, tore up the provision of fertilizers and does not give the necessary subsidies from the state budget. Recall, according to changes in the Tax Code, since 2017, the government abolished the special regime of value-added tax (VAT) for agrarians.
“In the scale of the country, the agro-industrial complex was deprived of more than UAH 20 billion annually. There is no money for fuel, equipment, fertilizers, quality seeds. That is why everything what will bring short-term profits, is being sewed,” the oppositionist emphasized.
According to experts, the regular growing of rapeseed, corn and sunflower deplete the soil. So that the soil does not lose useful elements, it is necessary to constantly rotate the plants in a crop rotation. However, these rules are violated in our country.
Oleksandr Vilkul stressed that “responsibility for violation of the crop rotation, which deprives the country of the future is a minor fine and bribes to officials.”
“After the elections, we will provide effective support to farmers, because under current state programs, billions are received mainly by large agro-holdings. In the EU, farmers receive from 200 to 500 euro of subsidies from the state for 1 hectare. And ours were deprived of the last. In addition, we will stop the closure of schools, hospitals and FAPs (paramedic and obstetric posts), because a village lives only if they exist,” the opposition politician said.
Note that according to the State Statistics Service, in the first half of 2018, meat production was decreased by 0.6%, milk – by 1.8%.
“The reduction in the production of meat, milk, vegetables and other products and the growth of their production costs is one of the reasons for the price increase. Therefore, state support of farmers is important not only for the agro-industrial complex, but also for tens of millions of citizens of our country,” the MP emphasized.
Oleksandr Vilkul systematically opposes the “sale of the last, what is left of the country and people – the land." He repeatedly expressed the opinion that the final decision on what to do with the land should be taken by the people, to whom it belongs, at the all-Ukrainian referendum.
