“I met with doctors. They showed data that the Ministry of Health did not want to show. By 26 June, 2018, 23,131 people - 9,327 adults and 13,804 children - have already got the measles. In 2018, the incidence increased 70 times (!), compared with last year. From the complications of measles, 12 people have already died: 8 children and 4 adults. For this, Suprun must not only be fired,” Oleksandr Vilkul, Co-Chairman of the OPPOSITION BLOC faction in parliament wrote on his page in Facebook.
He noted that, according to doctors, due to the lack of drugs and virtually zero levels of vaccination of children in maternity hospitals for tuberculosis (BCG vaccines were not purchased in time), in 2017, the incidence of tuberculosis among children increased by one and a half times, especially in the 1-4 years. And according to the World Health Organization, Ukraine has one of the lowest levels of vaccination, both in Europe and in the world.
The oppositionist sharply condemned the unprofessionalism of the leadership of the Ministry of Health, because of which in our country a number of diseases are still possible to treat only through the assistance of the United Nations. “Only thanks to humanitarian aid Ukraine treats tetanus, diphtheria, rabies, snake bites. Five years ago, the absence of these medicines in the country was considered in principle impossible,” he said.
Recall that in connection with the increase in the incidence of botulism in Ukraine (since the beginning of 2018, 46 cases of botulism have been registered, 53 victims, 4 of them died), a lot of serums has arrived in the country as a humanitarian aid from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Earlier, the mass media reported that volunteers had to take serums from Kyiv to save the Kherson inhabitant who became infected with botulism. It was not in the entire Kherson region. In the capital, there were only 12 doses. At the same time for one course of treatment, it is necessary 2-4 doses.
Oleksandr Vilkul systemically advocates the position that it is necessary to raise the quality of medical care and protect people. This requires the introduction of medical insurance at the expense of the employer. At the same time, the state provides insurance for state employees, pensioners, children.
The oppositionist has been repeatedly critical of the acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun, whose results include the absence of elementary vaccines, the closure of hospitals, a complete failure in the areas of prevention and early diagnosis of serious diseases, a dangerous outbreak of measles, an increase in the incidence of tuberculosis, botulism and other diseases that have not been for decades in Ukraine.
He demanded from the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada to introduce the draft resolution №5642 on the dismissal of Suprun, which Oleksandr Vilkul together with his colleague and one-party member Igor Shurma registered on January 16, 2017. The Verkhovna Rada Committee also supported the draft resolution.
