MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Nestor Shufrych considers that the President of Ukraine must veto the adopted Law on Education, as it violates the Constitution of Ukraine and the European Charter of Regional Languages.
Nestor Shufrych said that according to the law, since 2020, education in the languages of national minorities in Ukraine would be completely banned.
"People should not be deprived of the right to receive education in their native language. This is a violation of the Constitution and the European Charter for Regional Languages. This is a blow to the rights of millions of Ukrainians. This, after all, is a blow to Ukrainian diplomacy," the politician noted.
Nestor Shufrych reminded that the Law on Education has already provoked protests from the governments of Poland, Romania and the president of Moldova. "Moreover, Hungary even announced the blocking of any diplomatic initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine," the politician noted.
According to the oppositionist, in a situation where Ukrainian society is tense to the limit, the authorities have no right to create new confrontation.
"OPPOSITION BLOC demands the President of Ukraine to veto the Law on Education. This is untimely and extremely dangerous law, which will bring a lot of harm and trouble," Nestor Shufrych stressed.
