The MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Natalia Korolevska stated this, commenting on the decision of the Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal to abolish government regulations that oblige IDPs to undergo inspections.
“Roughly violating the Constitution, the government deprived hundreds of thousands of people of social benefits and pensions, which they earned over many years of work. Representatives of the Public Committee for the Protection of Constitutional Rights and Freedoms of Citizens achieved justice through the court repealing the acts of the Cabinet on regular inspections of internally displaced persons at their place of residence. Earlier, we registered a resolution in parliament with the same requirements – to review these shameful and discriminatory norms,” the opposition politician stressed.
Recall that in June 2016 the Cabinet of Ministers blocked the receiving of both pensions and material assistance by persons who did not pass the verification at the place of registration. Thus, about 650 thousand Ukrainian citizens living in uncontrolled territory were deprived of their payments.
“By uniting the efforts of all sensible people, we also continue to uphold the constitutional rights of the inhabitants of the East. We demand justice and call on all deputies to support our legislative initiatives: draft Law No. 6240, which will return the right to vote to IDPs, No. 6692, which provides for simplification of the procedure for receiving pensions by citizens residing in uncontrolled territories and IDPs. We also demand the adoption of Resolution No. 8255, which regulates the payment of cash assistance to internally displaced people. Returning people their rights and legal payments, we will restore their faith in tomorrow,” Natalia Korolevska said.
The MP also noted that now the main task is to force the Cabinet to immediately implement the court’s decision and not to allow the adoption of new resolutions that violate the rights of citizens.
