MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, Deputy Prime Minister of the Opposition Government for Social Affairs Natalia Korolevska stated this during a working trip to Zaporizhia.
"We met today with dozens of people, visiting the Department of Social Protection and the geriatric boarding house. People are outraged by the arbitrariness of power and injustice: having 40 years of working experience, they are doomed to live in poverty, receiving a pension of 1 380 UAH. This is a consequence of the so-called "pension reform" - the abolition of the coefficient of accrual of pensions 1.35. The Social Policy Committee supported my draft law No. 7237, its adoption will allow to return to a fair calculation of pensions, however, the deputies of the pro-government coalition do not rush to vote for it," Natalia Korolevska noted.
In addition, the Constitutional Court, on the proposal of MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC, found the provision of the pension reform inappropriate to the Constitution, depriving citizens of the right to early retirement. Earlier, on February 27, 2018, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, on the proposal of the OPPOSITION BLOC, ruled that the government's decision to impose a tax on the pensions of Ukrainian pensioners was illegal. In Parliament, Resolution No. 8081 was registered, which is proposed to oblige the Cabinet to return the money to pensioners, which they were selected from under the pretext of a 15% tax on retirement.
The Opposition Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policy noted that she would seek a review by the Cabinet of Ministers of the resolution on the recalculation of subsidies.
As a result of the government's decision No. 389 of all residents of Ukraine, the recalculation of subsidies is waiting. The plan of the Cabinet of Ministers is to deprive subsidies of 70% of people who used them before. This will lead to the fact that people will not be able to pay their bills, they will be given colossal fines and, as a result, they will take away housing for the debts of housing and utilities.
Only in the Zaporizhia region, about 340,000 applications for a subsidy for housing and communal services have been filed - about 70% of the population. Of this number, only 140,000 will receive automatic reassignment of subsidies, the remaining 200,000 will have to go through special commissions before July 1, and most of them will lose the right to a subsidy.
"We demand that the government review its antisocial resolution on subsidies and stop mocking people. Those people who have already received subsidies, it is necessary to ensure their automatic reassignment. It is not necessary to put experiments and experiments on citizens of Ukraine, forcing them to humiliate, stand in huge queues and expect to receive a "handout" from the government called a subsidy. It is unprofessionalism and mediocrity of the Cabinet that plunged people into poverty and put the country on the verge of a social explosion. We will do everything to protect people and stop bullying them," Natalia Korolevska said.
