The Parliamentary Committee for Social Policy supported draft Law No. 7046 "On the Social Protection of Civilians who became disabled as a result of hostilities or armed conflicts". The MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Natalia Korolevska stated this.
"As a result of hostilities in the East of our country, according to UN statistics, more than 4.4 million citizens of Ukraine – civilians of Donbas suffered, many of them were disabled. But so far, for such people, no special legislative steps have been adopted that would provide them with special state social protection and assistance," Natalia Korolevska said.
According to the MP, the adoption of draft Law No. 7046 will allow to established additional social guarantees, compensations and benefits at the legislative level for the disabled and disabled children who suffered from the conflict in the East, and will also provide an effective system for protecting such people by providing them with an integrated material, medical and psychological assistance.
"It is terrible that people who never took up arms in their life, especially children, were held hostage to the situation and could not leave the war zone. It is even more terrible that many of them received serious injuries and damage to their health. I believe that in this issue a clear state position is needed – all peaceful people who received disability as a result of the fighting, it is necessary to protect, support and provide the most qualitative state aid. I call on MPs not to doubt when this bill will be brought to the hall and voted for it unanimously – thousands of citizens of our country are waiting for it," Natalia Korolevska said.
