Children’s Charity Ball, under the auspices of the National Platform "Women for Peace", organized by the Co-Chairman of the movement, a well-known public figure Maryna Kinakh was held in Kyiv.
Such New Year’s events are held for the nineteenth time. This year the guests of the ball were hundreds of children: internally displaced children, children from large families, children with disabilities and children from the "gray zone" of Donbas.
"Today there were unusual children on the stage. They sang, danced, read poetry. Their world, their future depends on what position we will take today, how much we will be firm in upholding their rights, how much we can let these children know how important they are for the future of our country," the Co-Chairman of the National Platform "Women for Peace" Maryna Kinakh noted.
In mid-December, the National Platform "Women for Peace" held a charity congress in Kyiv, where its participants from 20 regions of Ukraine collected several thousand New Year gifts for children living in the "gray zone" of Donbas and front-line cities of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
"Children, like no one today, need the attention of the state and society, and in general all those who can help them. Therefore, the National Platform "Women for Peace" is never left out. This charity event was attended by women from different regions – each of us did everything possible to give children a feeling of warmth and joy," Iryna Kasyan, Chairperson of the National Platform "Women for Peace" said.
Charity events and regular humanitarian missions of the National Platform "Women for Peace" into the zone of armed conflict in the east of the country were made possible thanks to the unity of women from different regions of the country, their desire to give children joy and to make one more step towards peace in our long-suffering country.
"We believe that the peace will return to our land. We believe in our strength and capabilities. God grant that in 2018 each of us had as many happy and joyful events as possible! So that as many children as possible can be born, so that as many as possible families become happy, that we can give as much love, attention and care to our family and friends as possible" the initiator of the National Platform "Women for Peace", MP Natalia Korolevska, noted in her welcoming speech.
