The MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Natalia Korolevska stated this during a meeting with the active of the Girl2Leader Ukraine.
“Today, on International Day of the Girl, we had a very interesting meeting with the #Girl2Leader Ukraine asset. We talked about how to become a leader, why girls and women go into politics and how they can influence the processes in the country. Unfortunately, there are very few women in politics and in power today, almost all men are leaders: 93% are heads of state, and 92% are heads of government. It is important for women to realize their role not only as mothers, wives, and homemakers, but also as leaders who determine how the country will live tomorrow. And it is very pleasant that many young and ambitious girls from all regions of Ukraine show great interest in politics, state processes and the changes that are to take place in the country,” the MP said.
Girl2Leader is a campaign initiated by the Global Forum of Women Politicians (WPL). Women politicians were offered a group of young girls to give them an idea of the political processes and show that politics is the work of women.
The participants of the Girl2Leader Ukraine campaign were welcomed by representatives of the European Parliament and girls-leaders from different countries of the world – Kenya, Malaysia, Canada, Poland...
“Today’s meeting is very important, both for the further development of Ukraine, and for international cooperation and unification of women leaders from all countries. And one of the most important is the role of women in the reconciliation process. The more women involved in peacekeeping missions and negotiations, the more successful the result. For our country, the number one task is to unite and influence the situation in order to return the country to peace as quickly as possible. After all, the more women are present in power, in parliament, in politics, the higher the level of social protection, and people more feel the support of the state. We also talked about this at the Kyiv Global Summit “Women. Peace. Security”, where women of Ukraine for the first time declared themselves as a powerful and influential peacekeeping force, which is ready to take concrete measures to end the armed conflict and return peace to Ukraine. We must discard all differences, unite and pave our female path to a peaceful and happy future,” Natalia Korolevska summarized.
