MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Mikhailo Papiev stated this.
"I, as the MP, support the demands of our political force and the Romanian community to immediately veto, the adopted Law on Education, as violating the Constitution of Ukraine, which makes hundreds of thousands of people affected by the rights. To date, about 200 thousand Romanian-speaking citizens of Ukraine live in the Chernivtsi region," the politician noted.
Mikhailo Papiev also stressed that the Romanian Diaspora has always supported the unity of Ukraine. "In addition, with the adoption of the Law on Education, the future of young generations of Romanian-speaking citizens living in Ukraine has been jeopardized," he said.
"Today, when the social and economic situation in the society has reached a critical point, representatives of the "party of war" for the sake of their own PR deliberately use the topic of language to stir up conflicts and hatred in society," the MP believes.
"This law violates the constitutional rights of citizens, the European Charter of Regional Languages, not counting such important issues as teachers' salaries and closing schools, etc. OPPOSITION BLOC requires immediately veto the law on education, so as not to create new confrontation in society, and most importantly not to deprive the future of entire generations of citizens living in Ukraine," Mikhailo Papiev concluded.
